Music and Piano

Its always the right time to learn piano, if you are amazed by the composition of Beethoven and you like how your friends who play piano move their hands across the keys, then you have come to the right place.

First, before the lesson, let’s see why we should learn any music.

Studies have shown that kids become more optimistic in their life, their reasoning skills, and ability to observe and find pattern has developed because of instruments. Adults too are benefitted by learning this skill; music has proved to relax minds and destress the person who is listening and the one who is playing

Hmm, so as an adult you are destressed by “listening” to music so why play,

This is where social circle comes in if you have any extraordinary skill that you can show, it enhances your reputation among colleagues, even help in improving a relationship. Music also assists in building concentration skills.

Now we are done with the benefits of music, lets now see how you can become one the best pianist

there are some things which you should keep in mind before beginning;

1.) Never let anyone tell what you aren’t capable of –

You have got to ignore the people who judge you and think that you cant learn, the power of ignorance does not come handy, and many people are offended by others’ views. Always try to listen to your heart; that’s what defines a real musician.

2.) Learn from your failures-

This is a very common old and true saying that we should learn from our shortcomings. Try to analyze why you failed, the more you fail, the better you become if you learn from the failures

3.) Practice brings perfection-

“try, try till you succeed.” was a story which I read in my elementary school about a boy who stammers, and by practice, he wins the debate competition.

So you see he was born with a stammering disability, and by hard work, he went on to win the debate competition. If he can win a debate, why can’t you learn the piano?

Now the adults who are busy in their schedule may think that learning piano is lifetime work; trust me, it’s not!

To get proficiency in piano, you should learn your scales well, if you don’t know what a scale is, let’s dive a little bit deeper-

You have of octaves on the piano from which music is composed; octaves consist of eight keys. Can you believe only eight keys and their combinations can do wonders!

The eight keys are “CDEFGABC” if you play these keys straight, then you are playing the C major scale because you have started with C. If you start with D, then you are playing the D major scale and so on.

So as a learner, it is essential to know your scales well to get an intuition of music. once your brain is well trained and you intuitively know which key to play next, then you have got the “Music Sense.”

but before I lure you all about this, you need to get your scales right as they are the stepping stones towards your “music sense.”

The next exercise will be covered in the next blog, till then enjoy piano and practice your scales

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
